The northern lakes of the Landes... to swim and relax this summer.

  • Biscarrosse and Parentis.

If you have decided to spend a camping holiday on the lake, or at least a stone's throw away, the pond of Biscarrosse and Parentis (3540 hectares) figure prominently on your list among the largest lakes of the Landes of the Aquitaine coast. It stretches on the municipalities of Biscarrosse, Gastes and Parentis-en-Born. If you are dying to swim, head for the pretty beach of Lake Parentis-en-Born! If you are more natural, you will enjoy walking along the shores sometimes wooded, sometimes sandy.

The fishermen will be delighted to learn that a carnivorous competition is organized every year in the spring around the port of Gastes! The favorite of camping: visit the Museum of Hydraviation on the mythical site of the former base Latécoère Biscarrosse and discover the golden age of seaplanes and history of transatlantic flights to New York or Fort-de-France.

  • Cazaux and Sanguinet. 

In the heart of the Landes forest, the lake of Cazaux et de Sanguinet is also part of the great Landes lakes (5500 hectares). Country lovers passionate about sliding sports will have fun in one of the most beautiful lakes in France, while families will appreciate the calm and transparent waters of the lake that are around 28 degrees in summer!

The best of the campsite: Take the bike path that crosses the edge of the Cazaux and Sanguinet pond, reach the village and Biscarrosse beach, and then to Parentis- en-Born by bike!

  • Aureilhan and Mimizan.

Smaller, with 330 hectares, but no less exotic, is the pond of Aureilhan - Mimizan; a haven of peace and still wild nature to swim. Practice all kinds of water activities such as sailing, canoeing, pedals ... electric boat, canoe, but also to fish tents, to walk along the path of discovery of the Promenade Fleurie (500 varieties of plants and vegetables)...

The best of the campsite: the boarding pontoon built by the Duke of Westminster in 1910 to access its Woolsack castle, the same one that is on the other side of the lake.

12 km from the campsite, the lake of Soustons (400 hectares) is a unique place that will seduce you if you want to change a little of the beach and sand. If the site of the lake is very appreciated by the amateurs of veil and rowing, it is nonetheless a case of greenery where the nature takes again its rights! Numerous trails and marked trails allow you to discover on foot or by mountain bike the surroundings of the lake: the forest of tall pines, the interior dunes, the old half-timbered farms, without forgetting the animals that have made their home at the four corners of this magnificent site and wild. The crush of the campsite: if you want to surprise the children, board an electric replica of a Brittany Ferries boat or a miniature trawler to sail on the lake!

  • Léon and Vielle.

15 km from the campsite, the pond of Léon, which is called the Landes Amazon, a natural site classified at the same time mysterious, wild and resting. A small beach is ideal for sunbathing or swimming, while the shady shores of the lake are popular for jogging. There are also kayak rides, exciting walking tours in the heart of a protected and preserved nature! The favorite of the campsite: the descent into a skirt (traditional flat-bottomed boat) of the Courant d'Huchet. This site classified natural reserve is one of the most diversified of New Aquitaine. You enter a silent world under a luxuriant vegetation where live the otter of Europe, the Genette, the amphibious Vole, but also quantity of fish and more than 200 species of birds ...

  • Hossegor.

If it is necessary to conclude by a lake of Landes to see absolutely, we advise you to spend a day at the edge of the marine lake of Hossegor, located at 17 km of the Camping Lou Pignada Family Club. Whatever your desires, you will find your happiness: four beautiful supervised beaches and many nautical clubs, a leisure offer for all ages such as sailing, fishing and hiking, postcard decorations with beautiful villas on the shore, cork oaks and century-old maritime pines as far as the eye can see, oyster beds playing hide-and-seek at the rhythm of the tides ... The favorite: tasting the real Hossegor oyster with a little salted butter and a glass of white wine... delicious!
